MORI Building DIGITAL ART MUSEUM
teamLab Borderless is a group of artworks that form one borderless world. Artworks move out of the rooms freely, form connections and relationships with people, communicate with other works, influence and sometimes intermingle with each other.
Create new experiences with others, immerse yourself in borderless art, and explore the world with your body.
In a vast complex, three-dimensional 10,000 square meter space, 520 computers and 470 projectors create a completely new world, the likes of which have never been seen before.
People understand and recognize the world through their bodies, moving freely and forming connections and relationships with others. As a consequence the body has its own sense of time. In the mind, the boundaries between different thoughts are ambiguous, causing them to influence and sometimes intermingle with each other.
teamLab Borderless is a group of artworks that form one borderless world. Artworks move out of the rooms freely, form connections and relationships with people, communicate with other works, influence and sometimes intermingle with each other, and have the same concept of time as the human body.
People lose themselves in the artwork world. The borderless works transform according to the presence of people, and as we immerse and meld ourselves into this unified world, we explore a continuity among people, as well as a new relationship that transcends the boundaries between people and the world.
Experience three-dimensional light bouldering, a space for jumping high and sinking low, a space for crossing hanging bars that swing in the air, a weightless space full of three-dimensional light that moves, a world turned inside out, and a large three-dimensional space created with slopes of different elevations. By doing so become immersed in interactive digital art in complex three-dimensional spaces that result in a strong physical creative experience.
Learn and Play! Future Park is an educational project and an experimental field for co-creation (collaborative creation).
teamLab focuses on encouraging changes in the relationships between people in the same space. In order to make the presence of others a positive experience, teamLab hopes that individual creative activities can be transformed into co-creative actions.
Rapid technological development will continue to accelerate into the future and many jobs will be taken over by machines. In a future society, traits that only humans can possess—such as the ability to think and act creatively—will become increasingly more important.
Today, in education and everyday life, however, creativity is suppressed rather than encouraged. Furthermore, many people are addicted to smartphones. Their brains may be connected to someone via the smartphone, but their body remains thoroughly isolated. The opportunity to nurture joint collaborative activity has in this respect decreased.
Humans learn about the world through interaction with others and by sharing experiences. People think with their bodies as they move through the world, and much of human society has developed through creative achievements born from collaboration and collective play. Our hope is that through enjoying this co-creative experience people may become more creative in their everyday lives. This project was born from such a wish.

teamLab (f. 2001) is an art collective, an interdisciplinary group of ultratechnologists whose collaborative practice seeks to navigate the confluence of art, science, technology, design and the natural world. Various specialists such as artists, programmers, engineers, CG animators, mathematicians and architects form teamLab.teamlab.art
teamLab aims to explore a new relationship between humans and nature, and between oneself and the world through art. Digital technology has allowed art to liberate itself from the physical and transcend boundaries. teamLab sees no boundary between humans and nature, and between oneself and the world; one is in the other and the other in one. Everything exists in a long, fragile yet miraculous, borderless continuity of life.
